Pengaruh Abutment Jembatan Terhadap Aliran Sungai (Uji Model Laboratorium)

Abutments are structural parts of bridges, which can affect the flow patterns of water around them, potentially increasing flow velocity and erosion risk. This study aims to analyze the effect of bridge abutments on river flow through laboratory model tests. An open channel model is used to replicate real river conditions. Tests are conducted by comparing flow data before and after abutment installation. The results show that abutment installation causes an increase in flow velocity at several measurement points, especially in areas close to the abutment. This increase in velocity has an impact on the Froude value, which indicates a shift in flow towards critical or supercritical conditions. This phenomenon increases the risk of erosion and turbulence, especially around the abutment. These results are important in the context of bridge design and management, where special attention is needed to prevent negative impacts on river flow and the surrounding environment.
