Author Guidelines

A. General Requirements

The manuscript submission for J-IbM must follow the general guidelines outlined below to ensure readability, consistency, and professionalism:

1. General Format

  • Paper Size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)
  • Margins: 2 cm on all sides
  • Number of Pages: 6–15 pages (excluding references and appendices)
  • Columns: Single column
  • Spacing: Single spacing
  • Justification: Text should be justified (left and right aligned)
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

2. Typography (Font)

  • Article Title: Cambria, 14 pt, Bold, Title Case (Maximum 15 words)
  • Author's Name: Cambria, 12 pt, Normal (No titles, with affiliation)
  • Affiliation and Email: Affiliation in Cambria 11 pt Italic; all authors' email addresses in Cambria 10 pt (Corresponding author's email is mandatory)
  • Main Subheading (Heading 1): Cambria, 13 pt, Bold, Title Case (No automatic numbering)
  • Subheading (Heading 2): Cambria, 12 pt, Bold (Manual numbering if needed)
  • Main Text: Cambria, 12 pt, Normal, Justified
  • Abstract and Keywords: Cambria, 11 pt, Italic (In both Indonesian and English)
  • Table and Figure Titles: Cambria, 11 pt, Italic, Centered (Placed above tables / below figures)
  • References: Cambria, 12 pt, Normal, Hanging indent (APA 7th Edition Style)

3. Numbering

  • Page Numbers: Not displayed for draft manuscripts
  • Line Numbers: Must be activated (Continuous format) on the left side

4. Language

  • Academic Indonesian or Standard English
  • Avoid excessive passive voice
  • Foreign terms should be italicized

5. Reference Management Software

  • Citations and references must be managed using:
  • Citation style: APA Style 7th Edition
  • References: Minimum of 15, preferably from academic journals within the last 5 years

B. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript structure follows the format of a professional academic article for community service.

1. Title

  • Maximum of 15 words, reflecting the substance of the activity and its results
  • Capitalize every important word (Title Case)
  • Font: Cambria 14 pt, bold

2. Author's Name and Affiliation

  • No academic titles
  • Include full institutional affiliation and the corresponding author's email

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • In both Indonesian and English (bilingual)
  • 100–250 words: background, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusions
  • Keywords: 3–6, separated by semicolons
  • Font: Cambria 11 pt, italic

4. Introduction

  • Background and the urgency of the activity
  • Problems faced by the partner or target community
  • Objectives of the activity
  • Literature review or references related to previous service/research activities

5. Methods

  • Time and location of the activity
  • Characteristics of the partner
  • Activity design: stages of implementation (pre-activity, implementation, post-activity)
  • Tools, materials, media
  • Evaluation techniques and data collection methods

6. Results

  • Describe the results of the activity: output (direct results), documentation, field data
  • Include images, tables, or supporting graphs (with captions)
  • If available, present both quantitative and qualitative results
  • Use bullet points if necessary

7. Discussion

  • Analysis of the activity results
  • Link the results to theories, references, or relevant practices
  • Discuss the tangible benefits of the activity for the partner/community
  • Critique any limitations or challenges encountered in implementation

8. Conclusion

  • Summary of key findings from the activity
  • Clearly and concisely address the objectives of the community service
  • Include recommendations at the end of the paragraph

9. Acknowledgments

  • Acknowledgment to institutions, partners, mentors, or other supporting parties

10. Conflict of Interest Statement

  • The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.

12. References

  • At least 15 references, preferably from academic journals published in the last 5 years
  • Use APA 7th edition style

C. Table and Figure Setup

Authors must ensure that each table and figure includes adequate titles and captions that are relevant to the manuscript's context. The following are general guidelines for setting up tables and figures:

1. Placement

  • Tables should be placed after they are first referenced
  • Figures should be placed after they are first referenced

2. Table and Figure Titles

  • Titles should be written in Cambria 11 pt, italic, placed above tables and below figures
