Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal IPTEK Bagi Masyarakat (J-IbM) undergo a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and alignment with the journal's aims and scope.

Initial Editorial Assessment

The editorial team evaluates each submission for scope, formatting requirements, ethical compliance, originality, and overall suitability before the manuscript proceeds to peer review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers remain concealed throughout the review process. Reviewers evaluate originality, methodological rigor, validity, significance, and contribution to the field.

Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer recommendations and editorial evaluation, the Editor-in-Chief may issue one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

Revision and Re-evaluation

Manuscripts requiring revision must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

Review Timeline

The average time to first decision is approximately 3–6 weeks. The overall review and publication process may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and revision requirements.

Priority Review Service (Optional)

Authors may request an optional priority review service to accelerate editorial handling and reviewer assignment, subject to reviewer availability. This service affects only the processing timeline and does not guarantee acceptance, favorable reviewer recommendations, or publication. All manuscripts remain subject to the same editorial standards, peer-review procedures, and publication criteria.

Similarity Screening

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software and may undergo additional editorial assessment to identify plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, authorship manipulation, or other forms of publication misconduct.
