Mapping and Development of Railway Station Websites in West Sumatra Province Using QGIS and GitHub

West Sumatra is a province in Indonesia that has had a railway network since the Dutch colonial era, starting in 1891. The presence of railways has played a significant role in the establishment of cities such as Padang, Bukittinggi, Payakumbuh, Padang Panjang, and Sawahlunto. However, information related to the locations and conditions of railway stations in this province is still scattered across various sources and is not integrated, making it difficult for the public and researchers to access. This study aims to develop a WebGIS-based system to integrate data on railway stations in West Sumatra. Geographic data on the stations was obtained from secondary sources and processed using the QGIS application. This system was then integrated into a dynamic website built through the GitHub platform, using a software development method from design to implementation. The result of this research is an interactive WebGIS that maps the locations of railway stations in West Sumatra. Through this system, users can access information related to the location, operational status, and history of the stations. The search feature simplifies navigation for users to find the stations they need. With the existence of this WebGIS, it is expected to support the development of infrastructure based on accurate data and facilitate further research on the railway network in the region.
