Application of the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique ( SMART ) Method in the Selection of Favorite Cafes in Fishing Areas

The number of cafes in the city of Medan, especially in fishing areas, makes it difficult for some people to choose a cafe with good comfort to spend time with friends and family, be it for doing assignments or to spend time with loved ones. The purpose of this study is to help visitors, especially in fishing areas who have difficulty finding their favorite cafe with certain criteria and weights by making direct observations in the field. In this study develop a decision support system that applies the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method to determine the favorite cafe in the fishing area, from the results of interviews with several visitors and related parties. the criteria and weights as well as what alternatives are used through the assessment in the study, while the criteria and weights used have been determined according to the tastes of the visitors, such as service quality (35), price (20), facilities (20), atmosphere (15), and customer satisfaction (10) and 25 alternatives that will be considered in choosing the favorite cafe in the fishing area. The ranking results obtained from this study are the Labasta cafe with the highest score of 16.00 which was selected and also recommended as the favorite cafe in the fishing area. So that this research can help solve problems in the fishing area by producing a decision to determine the favorite cafe through a decision support system using the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method.
