Abstract

This community service initiative is strategically designed to increase the understanding and awareness of the academic community—especially students—regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) specific to the electrical system at the ITB Indonesia Campus. Beyond merely reducing short-term risks, the long-term goal of this activity is to foster a strong and sustainable safety culture and institutionalize safe electrical practices within the campus environment. The partner institution currently faces critical challenges, primarily marked by a significant deficit in safety literacy. Specifically, the academic community faces limited knowledge about potential electrical hazards and a lack of formal and structured OSH education, creating vulnerability to preventable accidents. To address these deficiencies, the program applies a comprehensive multi-modal methodology. This approach integrates diagnostic surveys to establish baseline data, the development of specialized educational media, interactive Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and intensive hands-on instruction to ensure active participant engagement. The resulting intervention presents a holistic curriculum that bridges the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical application. The material presented covers crucial aspects, including hazard identification.
