Limited grid access in Muara Pantuan leaves some coastal households dependent on restricted electricity supply. This community service program implemented and introduced Solar Home Systems (SHS) to strengthen energy literacy and energy-management capacity. Using a convergent parallel mixed-methods approach, the program combined outreach, training, mentoring, household surveys, interviews, focus-group discussions, and a one-group pre-test-post-test evaluation involving 30 residents. Five SHS units were installed. Mean SHS knowledge increased from 46.33% to 84.67% (82.7% relative increase), while mean energy-management capability increased from 46.1% to 84.1% (82.3% relative increase); both changes were statistically significant (p < 0.001). Qualitative feedback indicated that SHS complemented grid supply during periods without electricity and increased participants' confidence in operating and maintaining the system. These findings indicate that combining SHS implementation with education and mentoring can strengthen energy literacy and management capacity, although causal claims remain limited by the single-group design.
