Strengthening MSME–Village-Owned Enterprise Collaboration through Appropriate Technology toward a Circular Economy

Abstract

This second-year Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to strengthen production, process standardization, business management, and circular economy collaboration between UMKM Bersinar and BUMDes Majau Jaya Abadi in Sungai Ana Village, Sintang. A participatory approach involving needs assessment, appropriate technology (TTG) implementation, training, mentoring, and evaluation was conducted through 10 sessions attended by 20 MSME participants and 10 BUMDes managers. At UMKM Bersinar, TTG supported weighing, filling, packaging, temperature control, hygiene, and storage. At BUMDes, TTG supported organic waste processing through mixing, maturation, sieving, weighing, and packaging. A Solar Cabinet Dryer was introduced to dry soybean pulp (okara) for potential resource integration between partners. Preliminary results indicate strengthened operational processes and initial TTG implementation. However, improvements in efficiency, product quality, sales, economic benefits, and environmental impacts require further measurement and verification.
