Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Please prepare your manuscript using the official CoSIE template and check all requirements below before submitting it to the journal.

Language and Scope

Submitted manuscripts must present original research within the Focus and Scope of CoSIE — Journal of Computer Science and Informatics Engineering.

English is the primary and preferred language of publication. Manuscripts may also be submitted in Indonesian, particularly for research addressing local or national contexts.

For Indonesian-language manuscripts, provide clear and accurate English-language abstracts, keywords, and required metadata to support international discoverability.

Submission System

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions by email are not accepted.

File Format

Submit the manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).

Manuscript Length

The manuscript must be 10–15 pages, including figures, tables, and references.

Title and Authors

The article title must be concise and contain no more than 14 words.

A maximum of five authors is permitted. Write author names without academic titles and provide affiliations, email addresses, and a clearly identified corresponding author.

Template and Layout

Authors must use the official manuscript template and follow its font, spacing, alignment, margins, and layout. Do not modify the template layout.

Manuscript Structure

Use the following structure as a guide when preparing your manuscript. Select a section to review what it should contain.

Title and Author Information

Provide the article title, author names without academic titles, affiliations, email addresses, and clearly identify the corresponding author.

Abstract

Write one paragraph of 150–200 words covering the background, objective, methods, main results, and conclusion.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main topics of the article. Separate keywords with semicolons (;).

1. Introduction

Explain the research background, problem statement, relevant literature, research gap, novelty, scientific contribution, and objectives.

2. Materials and Methods

Describe the research design, dataset or participants, preprocessing, proposed method/model, experimental setup, and evaluation metrics as relevant. Include only applicable subsections.

3. Results

Present findings objectively using appropriate tables, figures, graphs, and statistical evidence. Report results clearly without unsupported interpretation.

4. Discussion

Interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain implications and limitations, and identify future opportunities. Avoid repeating the Results section.

5. Conclusion

Summarize the main findings, answer the research objectives, and state the contribution. Do not introduce new results.

Author Contributions

Describe each author’s role using the CRediT taxonomy where applicable, such as conceptualization, methodology, analysis, and writing.

Acknowledgments (Optional)

Acknowledge individuals or organizations that provided relevant assistance or support.

Funding

Identify the funding source, or state that the research received no external funding.

Data Availability Statement

Explain where the dataset can be accessed or whether it is available upon reasonable request.

Conflict of Interest

Declare any relevant conflict of interest or state that no conflict of interest exists.

References

List all sources cited in the manuscript using the IEEE citation style.

Formatting: Tables, Figures, and Equations

Tables and Figures

  • Number tables and figures sequentially and refer to them in the text.
  • Provide a clear caption for each table and figure.
  • Use one-column or full-page-width placement as appropriate.
  • Ensure images remain legible at publication size.
  • Do not use screenshots in place of editable tables.

Mathematical Equations

  • Use Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType.
  • Center equations and number them consecutively, e.g., (1), (2), and (3).
  • Refer to numbered equations in the text and define symbols where necessary.

  • Include at least 20 references, prioritizing reputable scholarly journals.
  • At least 80% of all references must be journal articles.
  • Prefer references published within the last three years, where relevant and available.
  • Use the IEEE citation and reference style consistently.
  • Include DOI links whenever available and ensure every in-text citation has a matching reference-list entry.
  • Reference managers such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote are recommended.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to CoSIE undergo a double-blind peer review process. Review is conducted online through the journal system, and authors can monitor manuscript progress through their accounts.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for obtaining all permissions required for copyright, software use, and intellectual property rights (IPR) related to the manuscript.
