MEASUREMENT OF PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WORKLOAD ON PRODUCTION PREPARATION WORKERS USING THE CVL AND NASA TLX METHOD AT PT MANDIRI JOGJA INTERNASIONAL

Abstract

PT Mandiri Jogja International, a company that processes leather products such as bags, wallets and various accessories. This company can produce 120 bags/day, with working hours of 8 hours per day. Production activities at PT Mandiri Jogja Internasional still use human assistance wherein work activities use manual tools that rely on humans. This study aims to measure physical and mental workload to reduce the risk of overload where excessive workload results in decreased quality of work. Physical workload was measured using the %CVL calculation, mental workload was measured using the NASA-TLX questionnaire. The results of the calculation of the physical workload for workers in the production preparation section showed that one operator obtained a %CVL value of >30%, namely cutting 7, obtaining a %CVL value of 34.9 which means repairs are needed but not urgent while the other 16 workers in the production section obtained a %CVL value. CVL <30% which means no fatigue. The results of the calculation of the mental load in the five processes obtained scores with intervals of 61 – 80 which were included in the high category, namely the glue spray process with a score of 80.3, a handle score of 77.6, a cutting of 76.7, and a lop set of 66.3 while one work with a score interval of 41-60 which means it is in the medium category, namely in the accessories process
