Copyright & License

JISTR respects and protects the intellectual property rights of authors while promoting open access, scholarly dissemination, and the responsible reuse of scientific publications. Authors retain copyright ownership of their original works and grant the journal the right of first publication.

All articles covered by this policy are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), which permits the sharing, redistribution, and adaptation of published materials, including for commercial purposes, subject to the applicable license conditions.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors publishing in JISTR retain the copyright to their original scholarly works. Copyright ownership is not transferred to the journal or publisher as a condition of publication.

By submitting and agreeing to the publication of their articles, authors grant JISTR the right of first publication and authorize the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make their work publicly accessible under the applicable Creative Commons license.

Authors remain responsible for the originality of their manuscripts and for obtaining the necessary permissions to use copyrighted materials belonging to third parties.

2. Copyright and Publication Statement

Published articles identify the authors as the copyright holders and acknowledge the Ali Institute of Research and Publication (AIRA) as the publisher.

The following copyright and licensing statement is used in the journal's article publication format:

The copyright year corresponds to the year in which the article is published. For example, articles published in 2026 display © 2026 The Author(s). The copyright and license information must remain consistent across the article's PDF, online publication page, and journal metadata.

3. Authors' Rights

Authors retain significant rights over their published work and may reuse, share, and distribute their articles in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.

Authors are permitted to:

• Retain copyright ownership of their original published articles.
• Share and distribute their articles for research, educational, academic, and other lawful purposes.
• Deposit their manuscripts and published articles in institutional or subject-based repositories.
• Make their research available through personal websites, academic profiles, and scholarly platforms.
• Reuse their work in subsequent scholarly publications, books, teaching materials, and research projects, subject to the applicable license conditions.
• Enter into additional non-exclusive agreements for the distribution of their published work, provided that such agreements do not restrict rights already granted under the Creative Commons license.

When redistributing published articles, authors should acknowledge JISTR as the journal of first publication and provide the complete article citation, including the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available.

4. Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International

JISTR publishes articles covered by this policy under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

This license provides open access to published research and permits readers and other users to share, reproduce, redistribute, and adapt licensed materials, including for commercial purposes, provided that they comply with the license requirements.

Under CC BY-SA 4.0, users are free to:

• Share: Copy and redistribute the licensed material in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes.
• Adapt: Remix, transform, translate, and build upon the licensed material for any purpose, including commercial use.

These freedoms remain available as long as users comply with the applicable terms and conditions of the license.

5. License Terms and Conditions

Users who share, reproduce, or adapt licensed materials must comply with the following conditions:

1. Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit to the original authors, acknowledge the source of publication, provide a link to the applicable license, and indicate whether changes have been made.
2. ShareAlike: If users remix, transform, or build upon the licensed material, they must distribute their adapted contributions under the same license or another license recognized as compatible under the Creative Commons terms.
3. No Additional Restrictions: Users must not impose legal terms or technological measures that prevent others from exercising the permissions granted by the license.

6. Self-Archiving and Repository Policy

JISTR permits and encourages authors to share and preserve their scholarly works through institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, personal websites, and other appropriate academic platforms.

Authors may post and distribute preprints before or during the submission process, provided that they comply with the journal's originality, authorship, and publication ethics requirements.

After publication, authors may deposit the published version of record in appropriate repositories without an embargo, in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.

Authors are encouraged to include the complete bibliographic citation and a link to the published version of record, including the DOI where available.

7. Third-Party Copyright and Permissions

Authors are responsible for ensuring that third-party materials included in their manuscripts are lawfully used, appropriately credited, and accompanied by the necessary permissions when required.

Third-party materials may include:

• Previously published figures and illustrations.
• Photographs, images, graphics, and multimedia content.
• Tables, datasets, and research materials.
• Substantial extracts from copyrighted publications.
• Software, source code, and other protected intellectual property.

Materials that are not covered by the article's Creative Commons license must be clearly identified through appropriate attribution or copyright notices.

Readers intending to reuse such materials must comply with the conditions established by the relevant copyright holders and obtain additional permission where necessary.

8. Copyright and AI-Assisted Content

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that manuscripts containing artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted materials comply with applicable copyright, intellectual property, originality, and research integrity requirements.

AI-assisted content must not infringe the rights of third parties or reproduce protected materials without appropriate authorization.

The use of AI-assisted technologies does not automatically establish copyright ownership or permission to reproduce third-party content.

9. Copyright Notice and License Consistency

The journal's copyright and licensing information should be consistently displayed in the manuscript template, published PDF files, article landing pages, and relevant journal metadata.

The copyright statement identifies the authors as copyright holders and AIRA as the publisher. The licensing statement identifies the applicable Creative Commons license and provides a link to its official terms.

For articles published under different licensing arrangements, the copyright and license information explicitly displayed on the individual article should be consulted to determine the applicable permissions.

The journal encourages authors and readers to retain copyright notices, license information, and appropriate attribution when sharing or redistributing published materials.
